2. Juno is a NASA orbiter with a mission to survey Jupiter. It is in an elliptical orbit around Jupiter as shown in the figure. (The gravitational potential at point A in the orbit of Juno is -1.70 x 109Jkg-1. ) 
     a. State what is meant by the gravitational potential at point A is -1.70 x 109 kg-1. [2]
     b. At point B, Juno is 1.69 x 108m from the center of Jupiter. If the mass of Jupiter is 1.9x 1027 kg. Calculate gravitationally potential at point B.  [3]

3.  a. What is meant by the latent heat of fusion of ice is 0.336MJ/kg [1]
     b. Find the result of mixing 20 gm of water at 80 oC with 40 gm of ice at -10 o C. (Specific heat capacity of ice = 0.5Cal/gm oC)  [3]
     c.  When a solid melt or a liquid boil, the temperature does not increase even when heat is supplied. Where does the energy go"  [1]

4.    a. Define coefficient of cubical expansion.  [2]
       b. How does density vary with temperature? Explain and derive the relation.  [3]
       
5.   a. Define lateral shift   [1]
      b. What will be the lateral shift when the angle of incidence is 90o. [1]
      c. Two non-miscible transparent liquids of the refractive index of 1.5 and 3 are arranged as shown in the figure. What will be the apparent shift of mark M from the bottom? [ 3]

      a. Define the power of a lens. [1]
      b. The refracting angle of the prism is 62o and the refractive index of the glass of yellow light is 1.65. What is the possible angle of incidence of a ray of this yellow light which is transmitted without total internal reflection [4]

6.  a. Define resistance and resistivity.
     b. An electron of charge 1.6 x 10-19 C is situated in a uniform electric field of intensity 12000 V/m Find the time it takes to travel 1 cm from rest. (me=9.1 x 10-31 kg ). [2+3]

7.  a. Define 1-ampere current.
     b. Define drift velocity. Derive an expression for the relation between drift  velocity and current                                                                                        [1+4]

8. a. An electric line of force is a continuous curve i.e., a line of force can't have sudden breaks; why not? [2]
     b. What is a capacitor? Find an expression for the energy stored in a charged capacitor. [3]

1. a. Define Projectile motion with example. [1]
    b. A projectile is projected from the ground. Calculate the horizontal range of the projectile and show that its path is a parabola. [3]
     c. Pochinki, a city on the Eranel map in PUBG, is one of the deadiest places to drop. A PUBG player wants maximum loot and aims to have a drop at Pochinki released from a plane flying horizontally at a constant velocity of 40m/s. if the plane is flying at a height of 180m from the ground, 
          i. What is the time of flight for the player to reach Pochinki.[2]
          ii. How far from the city of Pochinki the player needs to drop horizontally. [2] 

2. a. Define the terms stress and strain. [2]
    b. Derive the expression for energy stored in a stretched wire. [3]
    c. . The rubber cord of a catapult has a cross-sectional area of 1mmkalu and a total unscratched length of 10cm. It is stretched to 12cm and released to project a missile of mass of 5 gm. Calculate the velocity of the projection. [3]

3. a.  it is said that the universe is expanding. What is your opinion? Give a suitable example. [2]
    b. The nuclear density of 1 H1 and 92U235 are same. Comment it. [2]
    c. If the energy liberated by a single atom of 92U235 in fission is 200MeV, calculate the power if 2g of is used per day. [4]
